Tropical Smoothie Cafe would like to congratulate all the runners at this year’s Marine Corps Marathon (MCM)! Marking the fourth year of sponsoring the event, Tropical Smoothie was proud to support the marathoners and fuel them with smoothies. Helping people live a healthy life is a core pillar of the brand, making this event particularly fitting.
MCM is held annually in Arlington, Virginia and crosses over into Washington D.C. The marathon’s mission is to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill, and showcase the United States Marine Corps. Sharing in this mission, the anticipated event gives Franchise Owners a chance to share their fresh fruit smoothies to rehydrate athletes post-race and congratulate them on the hard work that goes into a marathon and its training.
This year, two Tropical Smoothie Franchise Owners, Dennis and Nicole Drake, spoke about their experience at the Marine Corps Marathon and what it means to them to be able to be involved. As a Navy veteran himself, Dennis looks particularly forward to this event as a way to use his Tropical Smoothie location to give back to the community.
“When you get an opportunity to support an event like this, it’s moving. Looking out over the waves and waves of folks and knowing their support—whether financial, for a loved one, or for the event—it is going to a worthwhile cause,” Dennis said.
